Flowable Fill

Flowable Fill or Controled Low Strength Material (CLSM) is a versatile slurry like liquid soil which is placed as a flowable liquid yet hardens and rapidly develops excellent load bearing properties with no compaction. Flowable Fill is self-leveling, can be placed in one lift with minimal labor and no vibration or tamping, and reaches 95% or more compaction within a few hours of placement. Flowable Fill does not form voids during placement and will not settle. The ease of placement and the hand excavatable properties of Flowable Fill make it a cost-effective alternative to granular backfill.

• Very flowable (12 + inch slump)
• Hand excavatable/ low strength with high compaction
• 6 inch concrete cap can be placed immediately following placement of flowable fill. (this may vary depending on surrounding soil conditions, absorptive or non-absorptive, clay, sand, gravel, ect.).
• If a 6 inch cap is used, road may be opened for traffic within 2 hours
• asphalt cap may be placed 6 hours after placement

Mix Identification: MFFTANK Designed specifically for filling abandoned underground tanks, pipes, backfill for subgrade, mud mats, ect.

• The most flowable of all flowable fill mixes
• Excavatable/ low strength with high compaction/ low subsidence
• Set times 12- 24 hours/ not recommended for street cut applications
